William Byrd, our Phoenix. Philippa Hyde soprano  and The John Jenkins Consort Consort of Viols (with Ilana on viol!) entertain at an event raising funds to support the Suffolk Villages Festival. The music ranges from the profound (the Lament on the death of Thomas Tallis) to the lighthearted (‘Though Amaryllis dance in green’), and even the gloriously silly (an anonymous evocation of springtime birds).
