Clarinetist Naftule Brandwein had a big personality and he liked to have fun at his gigs. It is said that sometimes he would hide fairy lights under his jacket and then reveal them while switching them on to surprise his audience.
No-one was more shocked than him (!) the time that it was a bit hot and sweaty and he was mildly electrocuted.
It's much safer these days and the London Klezmer Quartet proved that IKEA lights can delight an audience without half-killing the clarinet player!
